Sudbury Valley Trustees recently recognized four community leaders at its 55th Annual Meeting held on Sunday, September 28th at the Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury. SVT awarded the Lewis Conservation Award to The Sudbury Foundation of Sudbury, the Distinguished Public Service Award to Jody Kablack, Director of Planning and Community Development/Town Planner in Sudbury, the Morgan Volunteer Award to Craig Smith of Hudson and the SVT Steward of the Land Award to John Metzger of Westborough.
“These four community leaders truly exemplify the spirit of the Sudbury Valley Trustee awards,” said Ron McAdow, Executive Director of Sudbury Valley Trustees. “They each have dedicated numerous hours of hard work in support of land conservation in our region, and we are delighted to have this opportunity to recognize their contributions.”
SVT’s Annual Meeting was sponsored by Capital Group Properties and Middlesex Savings Bank. The featured speaker was Brian Butler, a turtle expert who has studied the ecology of turtles native to the Northeast for more than twenty years.
The Lewis Conservation Award is awarded to an individual who “toils in our local environmental vineyards.” The Distinguished Public Service Award recognizes a public official who demonstrates environmental leadership. The Morgan Volunteer Award recognizes dedicated members who have given freely and unselfishly of their time, talents and resources. And, the Steward of the Land Award is presented to a member who is a model land steward.
